About the Gaggia Espresso Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine
The Gaggia Espresso Machine is an exceptional value -a quality home espresso machine for $200.  The housing is made of high-impact, heat resistant polycarbonate.  The internal components are the same as Gaggia's other high end home espresso machines.  The portafilter has been designed the same as a commercial machine's portafilter.  It has a large 58 mm diameter so that the water is distributed evenly over a wide surface.  The filter holder is made of heavy chrome plated brass that keeps the temperature stable throughout the brewing process.   The brewing group (the part of the machine that the portafilter locks into) is also made of chrome plated brass to further stabilize the brewing temperature.   Stabilizing the brewing temperature and exposing the grinds to the water are key components to making a great cup of espresso.  The Gaggia boiler system in unique in that it is made from highly conductive aluminum and has two heating elements.  The boiler has 1425 watts of power and its provides excellent temperature stability and quick heat up.  The wait time between brewing and steaming is only 30-60 seconds.

Using the Gaggia Espresso Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine
The Gaggia Espresso Machine is easy to use.  The 64 oz. water reservoir is easy to remove.  Just slide the portafilter and drip tray out first, then slide the water reservoir out straight forward.  This espresso machine can conveniently use espresso pods or ground coffee.  The Gaggia Espresso Machine also has a hot water dispenser that is simple to use.  Just place a cup under the steam wand, turn on the brew switch and and open the steam knob.  The drip tray easily slides out for cleaning.

Gaggia Espresso Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine - Built to Last
The Gaggia Espresso Machine has been built for durability and performance.  It features a heavy-duty polycarbonate housing with commercial grade components.  This espresso machine also features a pressure relief system (three-way solenoid valve) that is found on commercial espresso machines.  This pressure relief system exists to immediately remove pressure from the portafilter once the espresso shot is completed.  This ensures a dryer puck for less mess and easier cleanup.
